My flowerpot has this pink/purple slime comming off of it and doesnt look to healthy. Is it dying and if so can it be saved?

Thanks

post pics and tank paramaters status lighting etc please

flowerpot or goniopora are notoriously difficult to maintain and have a long term survival rate of less than 10%. They are a mystery it seems as to why they fail to thrive......

Hello,
Try feeding it in a bowl of water out side your tank. The normal reason they die is starvation in this case though it sounds as if something is iritating it or it's decided to go to war with one of your other corals. I'd run some carbon in my sump or filter to make sure that there is no colateral damage done to your other critters. Please, make sure that it isn't withing reach of sweeper tentacles from another coral etc.

If you have more questions ask and I'll be happy to help you if I can.

have you been feeding it properly? cos they like to sit on the bottom and colect all the silt and stuff of the bottom. the lfs said that in order to feed them you stir up the sand around them. Also, they dont have a very long lifespan.

Thanks for the repies but I just gave up on it. I have read several threads about them and everyone has problems and mine was just getting worse and worse so I got rid of it.
