Never ending battle with slime too
I had this stuff turn up in all 3 of my tanks about a few months ago. I thought it was amonia at first and figured my tanks that have been established well over a year were re cycling. This stuff clogs up all my filters. It growns on everything. I give the tanks a good cleaning take all plants out and other stuff get it off all the glass and its seems ok for about a week and then WHAAAlaaa its back...none of my fish have died. and the one tank that has the pleco has the least...but he is a poop factory...I honestly think it is an algae and i have tried fasting my fish i thought it was from uneaten food...but its not the case... what region do the rest of you live in? I am in Phoenix AZ. The tap water here is pretty hard as far as tap water goes...we have the worst tasting tap water ive tasted maybe it has something to do with the crud in tapwater?
i search the forums every week looking for answers and I am sorry you all have it too im just glad Im not alone and crazy with this slime...
