Hi, I'm looking for suggestions for fluorescent bulbs since I have had my tank for 10 months with dual 48" bulbs (Sun-Glo and Flora-Glo) and it looks like it might be time to change. My tank is a moderaly planted tank.

I'm not sure what is my best option in terms of lighting. Would anyone have a suggestion as to what bulb make I should try next (i.e Tropic Sun, Flora Sun, Nutri Grow, etc)?

Thanks.

Often the "plant" or even "aquarium" bulbs aren't the best. I've had great luck with the GE Eco-Lux F40SP65-ECO 40w T12 bulbs. You can get them (I believe) at Menards or Home Depot, or other hardware stores.

Thanks Struc and Mgamer.

I wasn't expecting your responses as an answer because the 'flora' bulbs really try to make the point of using 'their' spectrum for photosynthesis assistance. Does that even really work?

I'll take a look at the GE ECO lux for sure.
