fluval 104

I didn't think it would be, but I am by far not experienced enough to judge the call. drsfostersmith.com has it for $62.99 which I feel is cheap concidering my lfs wants $119.99 for it. Things here in Alaska are priced soooo high.

you can't have too much filtration, just too strong a current. if the water is churning too much, try to diffuse the force comming out of the outlet pipe by bouncing the outflow of the wall/heater/piece or driftwood etc.

im not sure about the 104's but i know that the 204, 304 and 404 have a valve on it called the "aqua stop" that allows you to control the flow. if need be you can turn this down a little bit. however, the directions specifially say not to turn down the "aqua stop" more than half way during operation... if the 104 has this feature, then there is your solution. if not, then totally disregard this post. heh
