I can purchase a second hand fluval 204 for $20. Is it worth it? I hear its a poor quality canister filter. I have an eheim 2213 now and would use the fluval on a different tank. I hear they can leak...

Buy it I have 3, 2 old styles 1 new never a problem the leak issue is how the hoses attach just stop and pick up a hose clamp from the hardware store an additional >35 and you have a fantastic filter.
I would snatch it up for $20, if it's in good working condition. I wouldn't call it a poor quality filter...maybe not as good as an Eheim, but it will get the job done. I have a 204 and have been very happy with it so far. No leaking problems yet.
