I did not see this tank up and running myself but I did look over the box for quite a while. It seems they address the gas exchange in that area under the hood. Apparently there is quite a bit of surface turbulence under that little space. I dont know how the gas excange works but I would hope with the price they are asking, the R&D department did their homework.

i actually own this tank and my betta is coping just fine. the pump is strong and creates bubbles when it hits the water. i think its great and would advise any one to buy it for themselves or as a gift!

Update: the betta is still fine and looking much happier AND HEALTHIER than when i got it

I think they're very cool. I'd do a stocking like my 10 gal- lampeyes and shrimp or something. Some cool nano fish.

Besides the $129 price tag what I remember most was the video setup tutorial which showed how difficult it was to get your hands inside the small opening for setup and cleaning. That tutorial was pulled.

Saw one @ LFS...it was tiny...figured it was a display model...nope-it's full size. The pics in the brochure make it look WAY bigger than it is. Look at the actual measurements.

For ~$170 retail ($130 + shipping online)...cool but NO.

Surprised it's £89 in the UK...Would have expected to be £130...
Considering many items are typically "same # of pounds as dollars"
