Fluval G filter

i use several different brands of canisters on various tanks and havent had any problems, you just have to be careful and if something doesnt fit just right dont try and force it thats where problems happen and bad experiences. cheap does NOT mean bad quality operator error is generally the problem, so take your time and dont try and force parts to fit if they dont fit there is a reason. and i like the ribbed fluval hoses but if you dont you can always buy some hose from home depot etc. and replace them quite cheap.

Well I'm hardly a noob, I've been keeping fish for 25 years. I have owned just about every canister except for the Fluval's(I don't like those ribbed hoses) and now I stick with Eheim.
The G looks impressive tho but still way too expensive.

Well, I see how you could have felt my post was calling you a noob (I just reread it looking at what you have said)--I didn't mean it as such. Many times in my text, I could have worded what I am saying better--in such cases, I would appreciate it if you would give me the benefit of the doubt. Just a bit "nerdish" and tone deaf here ...

Mainly, I wanted to bend the thread towards the noobs out there, and NOT scare them away from canisters. I was attempting to point them away from the same mistakes I, and perhaps yourself, have made. Hindsight is much more of a strength with me.

Regards,
TA
