I have a fluval 404 cantister filter that is missing the intake strainer.(got it used) My question is will a magnum canister filter intake strainer work for it? the reason i am asking is i can get it cheaper and faster than the fluval on.:huh:

if it has the same inside diameter, it should fit over the pipe just like the fluval one... Something you might want to consider - the 405 intake has a check valve built in, to help the filter maintain suction if it is shut off. I believe the 404 has this same feature, but the magnum might not.
