I wouldn't use the ammonia remover - ammonium is the primary source of nitrogen for your plants! Plants need a source of nitrogen, and they generally prefer ammonium to nitrate - you'd be taking away food from the plants.
In a planted tank you don't need chemical filtration media, the plants will take up nitrogen (in all forms), metals, phosphates, etc. for you - in fact, with a heavily planted tank you may find you need to add nitrogen, phosphates, etc.
