Flying Fox Vs. SAE

Right on, Volt Man.:) I have been keeping them for a long time and they've been ripping out black brush algae industriously. Peaceful and very active as well. I was amazed when these fish eat on my hands and even scrape on my arms whenever I vacuum the substrate. The best fish of all 4 algae-eating cyprinids IMO.

Also, keep in mind, alot of LFS sell the true SAEs as flying foxes, and Ive also seen them called "siamese sharks" ya just have to learn the differences yourself to know when you have the true SAE.

The differences seem difficult to determine until you actually own a true SAE, then you will know not only the appearance but also the behavior and be able to spot them instantly whenever you're at the LFS. So no matter how incorrectly they mark them, you will always know what to buy.
I have never owned a flying fox myself...but I probably would if I had a bigger tank for my Asian fish.
