The cupcake was in a jar. It a new fad, hyped for the holidays.
I despise the security theater as much as anyone, but the jar aspect keeps being left out of the stories.
It was a curiosity - not just a cupcake in a paper wrapper. It looked a bit like this.
You decide; you're in a lousy job, responsible to too many over seers and managers. You get no compliments and heaps of abuse and criticism from people who mostly automatically hate you. Your every action is being recorded for "training purposes". (Training? Yeah, right.) You have seconds, not minutes, to make a decision about a jar filled with what appears to be a cupcake with frosting. What do you do?
Keep in mind your supervisors may be testing your actions at any time.
