FO tank

I would take about 25g out of your reef tank and put it in the 55, add 100 lbs or more of live sand, and then premix the other 30g to top it off. It would be more like a water change...and the tank should already be cycled. Add 1 hardy fish after a few days (with some stability drops) as long as your levels look good. Check your water daily to make sure your tank isn't trying to go through another cycle...if your levels do shoot way up, then put the fish in a container w/an airline until the levels start dropping back down. What kind of fish are you wanting to put in it? Depending on the fish...I would definitely get some brittle stars...they can clean the heck out of some waste! My sea biscuit does pretty good too! I have some snails left, but my puffers thought I bought them for fish food...Oh well...the scraper works just fine ( :
