Hi
I have a fairly new pond, I filled it with water about a month ago, after a couple of days the water went very green which I understand is quite normal. A couple of days ago the water has gone very clear again, but now I have white foamy bubbles covering about 30% of my pond. They seem to be formed from the waterfall but instead of dissipating as you would expect, they remain on the surface forming a foam. :( :( any ideas if this is normal or should I be worried??
any advice would be greatly appreciated :bowing: :bowing:

Many thanks

Steve

Thanks TJ.... one of my friends, who also has a pond, told me the very same thing :thm: :thm: it seems to have died back itself now, do you think that it is liable to return or is it just common with new ponds??

Steve

DOC is common with new ponds shortly after filling... your job is to make sure that the water stays in good shape - cleaning your filter regularily and vac'ing the bottom if you do not have a bottom drain type system. Do not over feed your fish. Adding a surface skimmer will help to reduce pollent etc that will collect on the surface that add to noticable DOC. Dye-off of green water will cause DOC so the removal of dead algae cells is important - and so the decaying cells do not induce another bloom.
