My water seems to always be yellow. I'm strongly suspecting the algae tabs I throw in for my bottom feeders at night.. I stopped with Algae Tabs for a while and my water cleared up, now it's yellow again.. I'm 80% sure they're the cause. I'm sure in a normal tank they wouldn't but I usually throw in 4-6 every couple of days for my larger cats and plecos. I give all my fish a varied diet, one less food item isn't going to hurt them.
I know some foods are dyed and it does discolor aquarium water, I usually try to stay away from that stuff.. it may be something else in the Algae tabs.
Has anyone had experience with various foods discoloring water? if so, what brands were they so Ican stay away from them in the future.
