Food for Cory's......?

I've recently added 2 emerald green cory's to my tank and had a question about feeding. Do most of you supplement with a type of food that drops to the bottom or is what falls from regular feedings enough to sustain them. They seem to go all over the tank scavenging and not sure if they are getting enough.....Thanks in advance
 
They do need to be supplemented. I use sinking wafers or shrimp pellets. They also enjoy frozen bloodworms or tubifed.
 
You should supplement. Even though flakes make a mess and a lot makes it to the bottom...

BTW, with such a huge tank, you should really consider keeping the correct amount of Corydora's. They will have a field day schooling in such a massive tank.
 
Staying with the same kind is always a good idea to ensure schooling. I say a minimum of six is a good start......Mine love shrimp pellets and algae wafers and anything & everything that falls to the bottom is quickly sucked up! They are such little piggies!

I have Greens, Bronzes, and Albinos. The Greens have different behaviors than the Bronzes and Albinos. They are much more laid back. I would get more Greens but for pure entertainment values the Albinos and Bronzes are so active that I spend hours watching them. Get some of both, you have lots of room!
 
If your sig is right you could, should really, have more of all your fish. Say a total of at least 6 emerald corys (maybe really brochis, a bigger cory cousin), 6 danios, 6-8 tetras.

If you like the albino corys you could have a group of 6 of those too. They're usually c. aeneus, bronze corys, (sometimes called green or even emerald just to confuse). Petsmart often has the correct latin name on the sign. If your "emeralds" really are c.aeneus then you can mix in albinos for a total of at least 6, they know'll they're the same species.

You have plenty of room for more but add them gradually, maybe 4-6 of a single species at a time. Wait a couple weeks then add the next kind...Do you quarrantine new fish?

My bottom feeders love thawed frozen bloodworms, shrimp pellets, wafers etc, they're not too fussy.

I'd like to point out that these would be minimum numbers for each species. You could EASILY go with about 24 danios, 24 tetras, 12 of each species of corys (emerald, bronze or albino) and still have plenty of room for other species. The larger the groups with these kinds of fish, the more natural their behavior will be and the more interesting they will be to watch.
 
I figured I could have more of each. I'm not done stocking yet as I just set up tank 3 weeks ago and still cycling so didn't want to add alot at once. I would like to add more corys (now that I know) and also the tetras.

Also plan on adding some silver dollars and some bosemani rainbows. Was also thinkin about Bala sharks but not yet convinced. While they look nice, I'd be concerned about their aggressivness and their size.
