food for thought (otos)

I recently acquired some otos (4) and a bushy nose pleco because of an algae problem that I was quite fed up with. They completely wiped out all visible algae in my tank within 3 days! I'm quite happy (and surprised) but now that they don't have any algae to munch on I don't want them to starve. Yet I can't get them to even notice any veggies I place into the tank. I am also having trouble finding a good spot to place the food. I've tried semi-burying them in the substrate but the food goes untoched and eventually floats to the surface anyways. Anyone have any ideas???

Get the sinking algae pellets or break up algae wafers so they are not so big and thereby unconsumed. They should like them just fine.

did you boil the veggies? also algae waffers could help. i just toss mine in the tank and they go after it like there is no tomorrow. could be they are full.

I wouldn't be surprised! But I'm just worried that they're not getting enough food, especially the bushynose seeing as he can't get onto plant surfaces as well as the otots. I think I'll try wafers.

It may take a while to adapt them to fresh veggies.
