How would you rank live food (also frozen); bloodworms, blackworms, grindalworms, whiteworms, microworms, vinegar eels and brine shrimp
according with nutritious value, fry or adult food, handling, size, and fish preference?.

I've always been told that baby brine shrimp are the most nutritious, but I question how much energy is confered by such a small volume of food. They do seem to act as a behavioral trigger for spawning in my apistogramma though.

No question that the most variety your budget and devotion to the hobby will allow is by far the best diet.

My vote goes to blackworms, though I can usually only find live ones. Frozen bloodworms are more commonly sold and are just as good for the fish.

How much to blackworms cost? I need to get some for my ADF's since they havn't gotten much food aside from the fly I cut up and tweezered to them last night.

i found for my adf there are lots of food they will eat on a reg basis i compact freez dried blood worms. sometimes i give him frozen blood worms. also i give him small pieces of sinking pellets he loves these. ex. algee, bottom feeders and recently iv been giving him sinking carnivor pellets there small and become soft very fast in the water and he has no troble finding them

a few facts:

"...Whiteworms generally contain less than 2.7% body fat in contrast microworms contain 4.8%."

Bloodworms,

Protein: 62.5%
Dry matter: 9.3%
Fat: 10.4%
Ash: 11.6%

They are also a good source of iron for the fish since they contain haemoglobin.

Brine shrimp cyst (dry weight)

Protein: 55%
Fat: 14.0% minimum
Ash: 8.1% minimum
Moisture: 7.0% maximum

PurpleSmurf- $1 will buy you more blackworms than your frog can eat in a month (well a few weeks anyway) Use a baster, they are extremely slender.
