hey.
jus wondering if its safe to put fools gold (i think its iron pyrites) in my tank? i think it would look cool having a couple of pieces scattered around the gravel.
cheers

Test it--put a chunk in a jar of your tank water. Test conditions first, then wait 3-4 days and re-test. If there are changes to the parameters/clarity of the water, I wouldn't risk it. I suspect that it might boost the Fe levels a tad, but I doubt it would be enough to be significant--I don't think iron pyrite is very reactive. I've found it in streams before, and it wasn't oxidized, anyway!
