For all you successful RCS breeders I need some insight toward my 2nd RCS attempt

Mellowvision +1. You really want a well established tank. If you have and existing tank, I would put a sponge filter in it to seed it and use that in the shrimp tank. I would also transfer over some decor from the existing tank. It will have a good healthy biofilm on it for grazing. A good shrimp tank probably wont even need supplemental feeding with enough surface area and moss.

My first RCS tank was a 5.5gal tank w/ a desk lamp for light. Bought the tank new, added some eco-complete piece of small unboiled mopani wood, anubis plant, stem plants, and moss. A week later I added 40 RCS a week later. They berried up a week after that and then bough $1 per gallon sale 20 transfered then over and now I have 400-500 shrimp that I bring to the local fish store for credit.
