For those who think not much can be done with a hex tank

They'd make really cool giant ant farms. ;)

Seriously though, I'd probably make them into vivariums with boa constrictors or water monitors, myself.

I'm actually aware of that, but i didn't realize I need to be specific in the comparison. Not much of a difference between hex and octagon shaped fish tank when talking about practicality of applications.
