Do most of you use a Durso Standpipe? I am looking for an alternative becuase I have to have a 1 1/2 inch pipe to have balanced flow (return is 1") on my 125. Currently I built a durso but the compartment is a bit cramped due to the size and I was wondering if there are alternatives. I do want a standpipe of sorts...not just the screen over the bulkhead to let the water fall from the overflow.

Thanks for the help!

No, the noise is not much at all. I am trying to accomplish using smaller space. Perhaps a standpipe that is straight. I have seen them, but don't know of anyone's first hand experience.

This is how mine looks now

Your entire overflow area is just for these two pipes. Why do you want to change things just to reduce the result a little? We are all having a little trouble with your request. Generally if it fits it's good!

i don't see an issue, everything looks good, and i hope thats not a metal gear clamp on that return line. If so i would remove ASAP. the rust will kill everything!

Both clamps on the return are the white plastic clamps, I don't use metal when it is in/near the water for just the reason you stated.
