You will not see fast growth with hairgrass, its not like a stem plant which will grow 2-4 inches in a week. To have a nice carpet will take months. Every 2 weeks what you can do is mow the lawn, trim the blades to half the size with a pair of scissors, use a fish net to catch all the cut blades
