foreground plant

I am looking for suggestions on a foreground plant.I like the micro swords,but I don't want it taking over and carpeting the whole bottom of my tank. Something low to medium light.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
This for a 29g tank,with a Florite/Gravel bed.Thanks,JeffM.

I'm fond of Anubis Nana.

Yeah for low/medium light I'd say anubias nana or better yet nana petite. Also a small crypt would work well, just found out about the crypt green gecko myself and will be including that in my foreground.

I like the Hemianthus micranthemoides. Needs frequent trimming to keep it low, dough, but has a nice colour.

It's a beautiful plant, but doesn't it require brighter light than the original poster has? (Though, looking online, I see everything from "medium" to "very bright.")

as long as you trim them back, the micro swords like you said should be cool looking.

Anubias barteri is also a good choice.

How much light do you have?

If you want something that won't spread alot, Crypts or Anubias would be good, especially in low light. Carpeting plants will spread, but you can control them by trimming and moving them out of areas you don't want them in. Most carpeting plants need atleast medium light.

Carpet plants in low or medium light won't grow that fast. Some trimming all 2 to 3 month should do. I wouldn't limit myself just because some plants grow faster and create some more work...
