Found your site to late

I had used quick cure. it has the same ingredients. I lost exactly the same fish. I have since found out that the clown loaches can't tolerate that medicine, and I am guessing that the cat fish can't neither. I think that I'm getting under control. I did a major water change and went out and purchased the Mardels Maracide. But not before loosing my large Bala shark. I thought I was going to loose the other shark also, but after the water change and the new ich treatment along with a fungal treatment all is well so far.. My 2 sharks also has a whitish fuzzy growth on them along with a film on their eyes. My local pet store said it sounded like a fungal infection that took hold from the stress of the ich. I don't know but the film is clearing up on the shark that is still living.

Yeah, it was probably was a fungal infection that took hold because of the ick... Let me know how they are doing on the Maricide. Good luck with your fishies and sorry you lost a fish....

I tried a couple different ich medicines and each time I lost Tetras. Last week I found my rummy nose tetras and some of my cardinals had ich. I ran across a product by Jungle called Ich Guard II said it was made especially for scaleless fish so I bought the bottle and tried it. It is clear so it doesn't turn the water blue and it worked awesome. Trouble is, I can't find anyone locally that carries it. I found the one bottle in a shop 50 minutes from my home and didn't have time to go get anymore so I found these fizzing tablets by Jungle also and put a very light dose in last night. So far so good, we'll see after a few days. I found Ich Guard II on some websites so I may just buy a large bottle to have on hand in case I have another bout in the future instead of hurrying out to find some off the shelf. I had tried Rid-Ich in the past and it seemed deadly for tetras. Don't have any cats right now so I can't say for sure but I bet if it's safe for tetras, it's safe for cats. Kyle
