Frag Tank

That was the photo from Gary showing his colony. But I use a Nikon Coolpix 5700 that I have yet to get figured out for taking these kind of photos.

When I get the DT set up I may need some help placing everything in the tank. That where I'll take some photos of everything and the DT with rock work and ask for suggestions. Here's the kicker for the DT, I am trying out the new Sun-Brite LED light tubes.

DANG Greg!! Purple Hornets huh? Those things are EXPENSIVE around here and highly sought after.. ok.. I need to pull out my "trading cards" and we need to have a talk. LOL. You are gathering quite an awesome collection of corals!!!!

HI Ace.... Yeah, my checkbook really bled on that one. If all of these take off and grow, we can do some talking. I saw one go on eBay for $404.00 from someone other than the guy who actually has the mother colony. I got it from Gary for less than 1/2 that.

There's a nice write up about it in this month's Reef Hobbyist Magazine. Check it out.

Well, the Purple Hornet(s) showed up and I'm sorry the photo isn't better but it's here and then I took my turbo snails back to the LFS and I picked up this Yuma, with another on its way. I'll get a better photo of the PH tomorrow. Talk about tiny.

Haha wow...about time to get the bigger tank going, huh?

You got that right. This is going to be the week-end that happens. I should be able to get the big tank cycled in fast since I'll use the water, sand and rock from the frag tank and then there's the water that has been keeping my life rock alive for about a month. Between the 2 I should have a cycle completed in a day or so. What water I'll need to top off wouldn't be much more than a water change. This little tank must be doing ok as you can see how the Coralline algae is growing on the glass, rocks and frag plugs.

So far, the only things I've lost are a couple of frags that snails knocked over upside down in the sand and I didn't find then in time to save them.

I've got to find some good under water epoxy and then decide where to place everything.

Latest additions! New MH bulb and bad PC lights so I'm sorry for the lighting.
