I am planning 2 10 gallon frag tanks plumbed into the same sump as the main tank. Both frag tanks will get about 200 GPH. Do you think it will be better to put different type of corals (softies, LPS, SPS) in the same tank, and use one longer lighting fixture for both tanks, or split the types of corals for each tank and use 2 different lgihting fixtures?. Also, what type of lighting should I use.
Hope everything goes well and I get myself this helluva Christmas present.

Woops! My present is going to be turning my current tank into a reef.

i would out soft and hard corals in different tanks for lighting needs. Can you post pics of your tank so we can check it out?

Woops! I'm converting my tank into a reef during Christmas. I want to make the tank pay for itself :grinyes:

The tank are 20" long each, so I think I will use a 48" 2 54 watt T5 fixture. Will this be enough for SPS?

I have never used T5, so I'm guessing 2x52 watts will be enough for SPS that are almost directly under it?

Or maybe VHO lighting?
