Fraggin SPS

OK, i have also read that you can attach the frag to a holder and put the cut area directly infront of a powerhead or in strong current and it is supposed to close the cut area in 48 hours and then it can not get infected?

Its not good to put any coral infront of a power head. Even if it was healthy that could rip sections of the corals right off. The supergule gel works really well and its fast, I did my first coral frags (bought 14 from a local reefer) last week and all the ones I glued have polyp extension, they're just sitting on the bottom of my tank getting use to the increased lighting.

ohh, i read it in a book, it said to put the severed part of the cutting in a "high flow area" and leave it there for 24 hours, it also recommended a powerhead, it said, lots about treating water for this and that to make sure it doesn't succumb to infection etc, but personally i think there is no need, why make a simple process of cut coral, glue to rock, put in tank into a hard process of adiing this and that to water and treating the coral for all sorts of things, IMO there is no need.

Nah, they are hardy *******s, I've dropped frags on the ground before, fractured them, and bumped their rock onto the substrate .. can ya do that with an anenome!?

sps

I usualy for thin SPS will just break off a small peice or if needed use pruning shears.. its not really an exact science.. lol.
I make sure to use a good cheap superglue. None of that fancy stuff for me.
It doesn't take long to cure.. I usualy cut my frag glue it to a dry price of frag rock (limestone) let it sit out of water for 10 minute to dry then plop it back down in the tank.. never had one go bad.. I have tried the puddy with mixed sucess... it is often a grey color and your fingerprints show up in it and often coraline algea will not grow on it.. (don't ask me why)

Also it is hard to use puddy for soft corals so I just use the same stuff for everything. Just make sure you cutting tool is clean and rust free and I really dont see how you can mess up. Glue cut side down.. I have made that mistake lol.
