Freaking out a bit....

Hubby built a DIY canister filter to augment the HOB. He used 3/4" (outside diameter) clear vinyl tubing from HomeDepot for the intake and return. We put it up yesterday, and it's orking great, but.....now we are freaking out that the tubing may be toxic or some such.....fishies are all fine (24 hours later) but we are paranoid... Any thoughts to give us peace of mind, or a "get that out of the tank now!!!" are greatly appreciated!

Vynil is totally non-toxic and is fine to use on any animal. Why do you think that airline tubes are vynil? :grinyes:

Thanks DavidFBT! Peace of mind obtained! You know how it gets with this hobby....sometimes you just get uber-paranoid that something is going to ruin your beautiful tank.... I'll post pics of both our rescaped tanks later tonight!

I use the same tubing from HD on my canister and diy python, if you look on the sticker the hose came with it says that it's food grade.

yeah, my DIY filter uses the same exact tubing, so far no side effects other than the fact that algae loves growing on the inside.
