:dance2: My Golden Apple Snails (aquarium or pond, canaliculatas) have recently provided me with dozens of babies that need a home. I'm offering these to Illinois residents who want to keep them alive...i.e...not for feeding to your other fish or pets. These free snails eat all plants and vegetables.

Right now they are 1/2 inch or less, but they will grow to larger than golfball size. Again, not the right snails for a planted pond or tank, but very cool otherwise!

Taker pays shipping, priority or overnight, your choice.

P.S. Take only *one* if you don't want snail eggs of your own.
P.P.S. Recent new laws forbid me to ship these outside Illinois.

Just a quick note, canas actually can get to softball size IF provided good care, plenty of room, and a good diet :) Wonderful snails with loads of personality and very trainable! My 3 come up to me to get treats, ride bubbles, surf the current at the top of the tank, ect. Very fun critters but as mvigor said, they don't do well in a planted tank! Also need approx. 5 gals of water each due to their large size at adult hood :)

Are these apple snails the same as pomacea bridegsii (sp?)?

I have one and he doesnt go near my plants.he does devour algae though.

canas snails

have a 75 gallon bowfront aquarium with 5 axolotls, so keep water temp at constance 64 degrees. canas snail should do ok right?

I don't know about cana compatibility with those tankmates and from what I've experienced with them they'll consider 64F way too cold. They won't move much, won't want to eat and might go into hibernation. I've got a tank that I keep at 76, one at 72 and one at 70. I can definitely tell the difference in activity and appetite. Are you in IL?

they are quite the interesting critters... I lost my 3.5 year old cana last week  How much would shipping be to 62919??? What color canas do you have???

Here's a pic of Gary for size comparison and to show off my snail care abilities  :

Shipping would be $9 for 1 to 6 canas. In warmer weather I charge $5, but I'll have to put warmers in the box in this kind of weather. If it were brigs I would probably wait until spring to ship them, but I've had really good luck with canas being hearty. Let me know if you're interested.

Oh, BTW, that's a gorgeous snail. Mine are all golden, but yours looks much nicer!

Here are pictures of the 3 tanks I mentioned. The first pics with the tan color background is a 46 gallon rubbermaid. It is linked in series with the blue background one, which is an 18 gallon. The last pic is in an 18 gallon glass tank. I'm about to start up one more 18 gallon tub this weekend and I see from the close-up picture that it's time to add more crushed coral to all of them to raise the PH and calcium a bit.
