Free Fish discussion

Thank you granny for showing your support. I believe the next step is to try to get this thread sticky'd

This has been too disjointed to follow. If / when I have free fish to offer, I will open a new thread in the classifieds.

:iagree:

Go Yankees! Whats wrong with you? The red sox are boring. Plus there liers. Manny got arrested in Seattle then tried to lie about his knee.

GO REDS!
Yeah, I know they suck and to make matters worse they just traded their best player. You'd stay true to the Yankees even if they sucked wouldn't you?

Where do you all get bags to ship the fish in i have some fry that i would like to give away but i am not sure where to get bags

I use Kordon breather bags which I get from their website. There are many other sources for regular bags including friends at a chain though. ;)

One can only guess that if you don't know where to get the bags, you've never shipped fish before. My best suggestion for now would be to take them to your LFS and have them bag them up for shipping - they only charge a tiny bit, and the buyer would likely be happy to pay for it so that they arrive alive. Then read everything you can on the web about how to successfully ship fish - it's a bit more complicated than you might think, and your little fishies very lives depend on you learning to do a good job of it. I hope this doesn't sound offensive - I'm just trying to help you learn and ship fish that arrive alive. I spent A LOT of time online reading everything I could about shipping them before I ever did the first one. An interesting thing to do when you decide to do your first shipment (after you've learned enough), is to ship a couple of fish to a friend or relative in another state, and make sure that they will be home to refuse the shipment. Then they'll come back to you and you'll be able to see first hand how they did. Did they survive at all, does the water reek of ammonia, are the fish sick and listless, etc... One SUPER tool is to get access to medical oxygen and use 100% oxygen. It will really give your fish a HUGE edge when shipping - especially if you're going to use Priority instead of Express mail. I hope this helps some - I didn't mean to write a book :lipssealedsmilie:
