I have 6 comet goldfish that need re-homing. They are from 3-8 in long and are in a 40 gal tank.Sadly I can make no garentees for there health. I wish i could but was went in way over my head with them. They got too big too fast. I would like to keep them in a school. I recently fed them rosy reds, not a good idea on my part.:uhoh: They got some sort of sickness that killed of my 2 koi and nearly killed them. They are fine now but still be warned. They would really like a home. :goldfish::goldfish::goldfish::goldfish::goldfish::goldfish: I live in bridgeport PA. Pick up would be best for this. I cant ship them and it would probably stress the fish out.

I Know it was a stupid idea on my part.

Not stupid, uninformed...we all make mistakes. Hopefully someone close to you will be able to get them from you. I am on the other end of the state, other wise I would figure out something until spring when I could put them in my pond that is being built.

I hope someone takes them. They really need a home.

If you can find a good home, don't worry about keeping them in a "school." Although they love companionship and shouldn't be kept alone, goldfish are not schooling fish. If you could keep them until you are a little more certain of their health, you might find more takers. Anyway, bump for you, and good luck rehoming the fish:)

Thanks. I'll see how they do over the next week or so then set up another thread.

Comets are difficult to rehome and sick ones are almost impossible. As you found out they get big fast and reproduce like rabbits. I wish you luck. Try Craigslist. Print out a carelist and some links to go with them. Sorry I can't help. I live in the Midwest. Please make sure they are rehomed to someone that would use them as feeders.
