Free goldfish, needs a good home

you are going to have a few years before you have to fret about that tho.
10 gal will be good for a wile. A gal per inch of fish is the gen fish rule.

do a search on the one inch per gallon rule and you'll find MANY arguments against it. Outdoors, a goldfish would reach 8-10" in months, not years. Indoors, it could do the same if water quality is kept up.

10g for a comet is a very temporary solution. Hate to say it, but there's a reason that these are sold as feeders. They're not great pets in aquaria, unless you have a huge tank.
 
I had a single comet goldfish with the same setup you have. I somewhat regret not getting a bigger tank. As they get bigger the tank gets dirty so fast. Make sure you stay on top of the water quality, especially the ammonia levels.
 
it to makes me made to put live fish in little bowls.
I have a 120gal tank with a few assorted fish in it but I also have three goldfish in there to and they are doing great, I will take them if it don't cost too much to ship them
