Free To good Home, Cichlids (Lake Tahoe area)
Hi all. I have 6 mbuna african cichlids, I will see if I have any pics. They are healthy but did go through a perioud of poor water quality due to a plumbing mishap (its a long story)
I have decided that I would like to take my aquarium hobby (err addiction) in a different direction and maybe do a snail tank, or make my kid happy and have moillies. Basically I want peaceful fish who wont have my snails for snacks or bite their tentacles off.
I cannot ship these fish as I don't know what I am doing for shipping and it would be inhumane for me to even try. These fish are for local pick-up only, in the Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, Reno, Carson City area. They will come with some food.
Also, if you have peaceful fish, snails, or other invertabrates for trade that would be awsome as well.
I know the chances of finding them a home this way are slim since I am only 1 of a handful of people in this area, but I would rather try here with people who know what they are doing than any other way.
My backup plan is to wait 3 months for the new docs office in town to be built because the guy who sets up their tanks almost always does mbuna or saltwater and he will put them in a good home for me then.
I would prefer they all go to the same place for simplicity, but if I have 2 people willing to take some each thats cool too.

These pics are about 8 weeks old, the fish are more mature and larger now.
Both of the above fish are included though the one on the right doesnt really look that blue, he is more gray in color. I was still learning how to use my camera.
Both of these guys are included. I'm not totally sure but I think they could breed someday. They are the biggest, fattest fish.
There are two like this, they are more yellow now and the do like to quarrel a bit but they don't hurt each other.
