I recently started my arrowana out on crickets. Up untill now, he's been eating feeder guppies, koi pellets, freeze dried shrimp and anything else he can fit in his mouth. He love the crickets. Flat out loves them. Their wiggling on the surface of the water excites him, he can smell them the moment they hit the water. Crickets tickle him on the inside.

What I did'nt realize is that the nice little plastic bag I bring crickets home in is not a cricket proof container. The revolutionary forces of cricket power nibbled out the corner of the bag and led their cricket brothers and sisters into freedom, also known as my living room. I have nearly two dozen crickets rampaging around the house. Ahem.

I'm also a coffee drinker, so I have these big empty coffee cans lying around.. Ah ha, thought I! I could store the crickets in the coffee can, and they would'nt get loose. Pretty smooth move... So in go the crickets. And I kinda could'nt get the last of the coffee ground out. And the crickets ate them. And the arrow ate the crickets. Half a dozen caffinated cricket crispies later, my two foot arrowana was cruising the tank at twice normal speed, mumbling something about a starbucks grande being a prissy boy drink.

Crickets are evil. Tasty, crispy evil.

ha!

love it!

maybe try pouring some red bull into the tank?

The last thing I need is an arrowana with wings. I can imagine him swooping around the neighborhood picking birds out of the air and chasing the local cats up trees.

Plus, if the plecos got hold of it.. well. I shudder. They like bright shiny things. I think they'd eat the paint off cars if they could get out.

Post more my friend. We need your humour!

I really love this line "Half a dozen caffinated cricket crispies later, my two foot arrowana was cruising the tank at twice normal speed, mumbling something about a starbucks grande being a prissy boy drink."
