Hello,

I have read that live tubifex if not taken care of properly may harbor parasites and unwanted 'guests'.

My question is that I feed freeze dried tubifex worms... Do they still have a risk of infecting my fishes?
Will different brands matter? (process of freeze drying of company VS another)

Thanks!

hmm im not so sure about that bout I think sometimes they come back to live so maybe the parasites come back to live too?

Live tubifex can be an intermediate host to some parasites.
freeze dried..no..the process used to freeze dry should kill any parasites.
frozen..there is a possibility that the tubifex may not have been frozen at a temperature low enough or long enough that would kill the parasite.

bloodworms are more expensive than tubifex.. thats why.. And I want to supplement my fishes with more than staple food...
