Freeze-Dried Tubifex Worm Cubes... Question

The container says stick them to the side of the tank.

I got them so that my Kuhlis could have some freeze-dried wormies

(the other freeze-dried foods I've used in the past tend to float- the Kuhlis go mad whenever I add freeze-dried worms to the tank- but never figure out they're on the surface... guess they smell them but can't find them)

So reached in- squished a cube to the glass wall near the bottom... 5 seconds later it was floating.

Tried again- same result... and again... same result...

Eventually the cube was so smashed from repeated attempts to get it to stick to the glass it just fell apart and all the worms floated to the surface.

Tried this morning with a new cube... same thing happened.

Is there a trick to getting these cubes that the packaging clearly states to press to stick against the glass to actually stay on the glass?

Try cleaning the glass right before you stick the cube. The biofilm will keep it from sticking even if the glass looks clean.

Thanks... I'll give that a go...

I almost never bother cleaning the glass because it does look clean and I know the snails and Pleco feed from the biofilm. I have a lot of fast growing plants that prevent me really getting much algae.

Never thought the biofilm might be preventing the cube sticking.
