Regarding the filter, Id take a part of the media, like say 40% of it and add to the new filter. If you bring the lillies in too, (I have some inside) just make sure you enough lights.
For this year you probably have enough room but watch your water parameters, as said golds can be dirty. The general rule of thumb is 1 gallon per inch for the minnows and 2 gallon per inch for the golds. My practice is to have 2 to 4 fish inches of empty space for parameter error.

Golds grow fast, maybe next spring when you move them out you can add another pond about 90 gallons. You can make it reasonably with pond liner.

I have a 50 gallon preformed pond which I am putting in a 90 gallon to trickle into it and a large enough pump to move the water back up to it with lots of plants to filter out toxins
