Freshwater Artemia? (Fairy shrimp)

Are these not as nutritious as brine? Is that why I'm not seeing as many offerings on aquabid and ebay as brine shrimp? Does anybody use them instead of brine shrimp?

Fairy shrimp are not Artemia. I think they are just less popular due to differences in ease of egg harvest rather than any nutritional difference. I have not raised them myself, but I have fed wild-caught juveniles to salamander larvae.

The eggs are kinda pricy... I'd love the convenience of being able to hatch them in fresh water though. Would love to see how this turns out, but don't wanna be that guy who's doing the experimenting.
