Hello,
I am at the beginning of my cycle and am looking at freshwater compatibility and found the following. Can I get some comments about the choices and if they are all compatible please?

They are:

Neon, Tetra, Mollies, Platies, Tiger Barb, Cheirodon, Red Zebra, Placostamus, Glo-Fish

Not sure if I am getting "all of them", but want to start with a cross-compatibility check.

Thanks very much!

You'll need at least a 30 gallon tank for tiger barbs. They like room to swim. Also keep them in a school of at least 5 or they tend to chase and harrass the other fish.

I have a 37 Eclipse.

Cool, that's a good size tank. Do you have a specific kind of tetra in mind? Just the neons?

IMO, tanks look best with a few species. But it's really a personal taste thing.

Cheirodon
Are you referring to Cheirodon axelrodi? They're still tetras and look similar to the neons but the length of their red stripe varies.

I'd go with purely tetra community.:grinyes: Maybe you ought to try Kerri tetra (Inpaichthys kerri), lemons, beacon, diamonds and others. It's up to you. If you want a more challenging field, rummy-nose tetras are excellent suggestions. I wouldn't add them though in th early stages of the tank.

Thank you for all the input, I guess I just need to see what is out there in the stores. Initially, I did a google search off of a list of freshwater fish.

Cardinal tetras are my favorite fish. A large shoal of them will look fabulous in your tank. Maybe get a smaller school of 6 or so other tetras that contrast. Rummynose would be nice.
