Freshwater Dip

so i should get some proper ph 8.3 or something like that at my lfs

ok, i'll note to myself to get some 8.3 buffer/ph changer and methalyne blue

i dont do freshwater dips for invertebrate right? Only fish right?

i dont think i would need to freshwater dip the corals, my lfs sells them in separate tanks with no fish so there shouldnt be any fish diseases on them like ich and stuff, of course if i should just tell me.

You can do a freshwater dip for corals aswell...

your normal inverts, cant really see why there would be a need too..

on corals? ive never heard that...they dont do well to that at all...ive heard diluted iodine dips for parasites and fungus..but never freshwater....most corals can think of couldnt handle that. do u have an article for me Andy?...not saying ur wrong.

corals can have a fresh water dip aswell as fish when they are sick. As always, when i make a statement, here is some backup..written by Tim Hayes..A very experienced person...

Review section on sick corals...Find it hard to believe that you have never heard of it G'Man.

Edit - For G'Man, you can freshwater dip quite a lot of corals, and yes they can handle it.

thx Andy:)
while u made that post i made a few calls to a few of the experts and stores around here and they said that the freshwater dip is a common thing with zooanthids and sometimes mushrooms and leathers.....but to never risk it with LPS or SPS corals. the 5 people i talked to all agreed, so its fine with a few but like the link u posted said not all corals can tolerate it. and on another note other inverts cant handle it, it will almost be instant death to dip them in freshwater like...shrimp, crabs...etc
iodine dips are much better and safer..and the commercial dips for SPS corals should only really be used for SPS
