Freshwater goby question(s)...

You have snails that eat algae. I think its safe to say that all stiphodons and gobies in general eat live algae. I never saw them once eating algae wafers. So that's kind of not giving the gobies enough food. As for sifting sand, they don't really do it. They dug a nest under my driftwood and around the rockwork, but that's it.
Plus, you'd want directional flow, since gobies are hill stream fish.

Well, this was in case the shrimp & snails set up didnt work out. IF not, then thats when i was going to set up tank with some very colorful fish. Gobies, gudgeons, killifish...species like that. The brighter colored the better.

Was basically looking for 2 or 3 types of gobies. Then some fish that would use the upper part of the tank..etc.

Does there have to be a certain type of algae for the gobies to eat? Hair algae or something? IF so, can i set up say a 10g tank with various rock to promote and growout this type of algae with say a light constantly on the tank with water running over the rocks and put one in a wekk or sumthing?

i have a chance to get this goby:
Sicydium sp. African algae-eating Goby

you dont think they would eat tablets?
