Frogbit dying off:

pretty hard lol considering it is freezing. But if you have atleast a few healthy looking ones then give it a week and see where it goes. For me this plant spreads like a weed.

I figured as much. I think I just got dealt a bad round of luck this go round. if it doesn't pull through, she'll ship more to me when it warms up a bit. The tiny leaves seem to be multiplying and are forming mini-shoots so I'm hoping it pulls through. I went ahead and added the Flourish. I'll add the excel again tomorrow, I think that's the every other day one? I added it in yesterday for the first time.

also, should I continue pulling the yellow/dying plants? or lave them in a bit?

Bah, so most of it has died off. Talked with the shipper this afternoon a bit and they recommended to cease using the flourish excel as it is a sugar base and can impede/harm the frogbit?

Huh. Doesn't seem to be hurting my frogbit, which is sending off new shoots like crazy. Seasoned pros, what's the word on this?

bk what do you do for your red root floaters and frogbit as far as lighting and ferts?

nothing special. 2wpg (ahsupply) on for 10hrs a day with co2. Ferts i only dose like once every 2 weeks (lazy i know). The key to having them spread like wild fire is calm waters. I got rid of 90% of the redroot/frogbit less than 2 weeks ago and now im back to having the whole 55g tank being covered. Got huge single pancakes of RR floating.

Well.. nearly the whole tank died off except for a handful.... note I had enough originally to fill a 2 quart bag... covered half of the top of my 75gallon. So that tells you how much I started with and went down to. At any rate, the handful seems to actually be coming back to life and is looking quite green with tons of little green leaves spread all around them. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they make it through and I soon become swamped with it :)
