I have a 45 gallon corner tank that has two vertical seams in the main viewing area.

Scraping green spot (tough) algae from either side of the seam is tricky (don't want to get into the seal).

Does anybody have a tip for scraping algae next to a seam without getting too close?:confused:

get a bottle brush. it takes a little time, but the bristles will get into the corner really well and will take off the algae

What I do is I get an "algae sponge" from my local pet store and it gets into corners to! Its usually around $1-$4 around me. I think its totally worth it. If you want to go the extra 5 miles ( is that even a saying?Lol? )
get an algae sponge on a stick thing. They go for about $4-$10 depending on how much u spend.

Hope my advice was useful! :)

Huffy :headbang2:

PS ( recently I had to get rid of my 10 gal breeding tank because of excessive algae I could not control... Black algae... It also destroyed all my artificial plants and caves! )

Thanks - I use an algae sponge now - removed the stick thing however, just put my arm down in the tank. It just doesn't get that tough green spot algae very well. It almost takes a razor blade to remove it - worried about getting the blade into the seam and turn the front room into a small swamp!
