I know these are different area fish, but my girlfriend loves angels and i was really digging the fronts and wondering if they would be good tank mates.

The tank is the one I've mentioned in another thread, I am about to start cycling it this week sometime, 60x18x25ish (120g). The tap water Ph is about 7.4-7.6 so it is doable from that respect.

right now I plan to have 4-6 angels, a pleco or two, and I wanted something else so it was either 4-6 clown loaches or maybe the fronts.

I realize they are middle tank fish too, so there might be some crowding. Has anyone done this before?

hahah, yeah... her response to a picture was "freshwater fish just arent pretty"

i dunno, i kinda like the angels/fronts combo if they would get along... im just posting a question to see how i should prepare. i know id need some rocks or more wood or something for hiding spots.

Angels wouldn't fair great against fronts, even though frontosa are one of the slow moving and more peaceful tangs, they get very large in comparison to angels and will be too aggressive for them, not to mention the differences in water chem. of the 2 species.

Hm, it would be an awesome combo to see. If you really want to try this, what I would do is buy the angels large and the fronts small, add a lot of hiding places, and get the angels before you added the fronts. This gives the angels the upper hand and a better chance of being friendly or at least competing with the fronts.

They fronts will likely eat the angels (or at least attempt to) when they are older, if the angels even survive up to that.

Tell her unless she want to dead fish, that the mix is completely out of the question.
