Pit is right. My first instinct was kenyi too. Those are not even close to fronts. They are mbuna, nasty as hell, and from lake malawi. You should return them to the store, because they will beat the snot out of your haps, and $6 is outrageous for kenyi juvies. Sorry you got screwed over, but if the store is a decent one, they should be pretty cooperative.
I can't seem to place them to any one species of mbuna, so that's why I'm thinking they're possibly hybridized.
But I can barely see the pelvic, anal, or dorsal fins in the pics to compare them to anything. And color and striping isn't usually a good indicator of species in these fish since it can vary from one individual to another, and change depending on their mood.
Honestly I think most of the "kenyi" I see at the LFS are probably hybrids anyways.
Yeah, they're easy. You put a group of females and one male. There, they spawned, lol. I mean, people with lots of rockwork get their tank overrun by babies.
You generally wanna keep mbunas with other mbunas because of their aggression level. Unless it's a yellow lab or something which is relatively peaceful usually.
Kenyi are little monsters so you will need to stick with other little monsters The cool part of Kenyi's are that the male is yellow and the female is blue i would def figure out down the road what sex you have if you keep these guys and add more females to spread the aggression..
But if you want to add some others stick to some Mbuna like Red Zebras and such..
