hello:welcome:

can i feed frozen bloodworms to my fish every day? My lfs tells me it is great to do that for growth and colour and health. The guy there says he does that with his tanks. i have a 69g freshwater up and running 2 years now.

1 red rainbow
1 boesmani rainbow
2 rosy barbs
1 red torpedo barb
2 clown loaches
2 blue jack dempseys:headbang2:

p.s my jacks have been in there for long and everyone gets along fine. However it seems they dont grow fast. any suggestions as well

thanks:welcome:

Too much protein and fat isn't really good for fish. Maybe 3 times a week at most. Serve some veggies to clear up any constipation they might have.

veggies? what di u mean? can u explain

thanks a lot

many people will feed shelled peas to their fish to clean out the digestive tract. You can also feed blanched zucchini, cucumber, etc which some fish really enjoy. I feed bloodworms or frozen tubifex about 2x weekly..the rest of the time I feed high quality flake and sinking pellets for my bottom feeders.

can i feed carrots and celeri?

:)

i have fed carrots but they aren't a huge crowd pleaser and I don't know how much nutritional value celery has....generally green veggies are best.

Well boiled brussel sprout leaves are a crowd pleaser but they only get them when I stop to peel a few leaves before I eat them. A whole sprout would be enough for lots of fish in several aquariums. Even the mystery snails seem to love the leaves.

Rosy barbs love veggies!! Try peeled peas and zucchini for them.
