Frustrated with Alternanthera reineckii

hmmm. ok. well, it's already as tall as the tank, so I guess I'm going to have to pull it out and replant it so it has some room to grow. but that makes sense; the newer growth at the top is a deep red. wish I had know!

yee then take it out of the tank and cut 2-3" off the bottom and replant the top. I also see some new growth from the sides of the stem. looks like its headed in the right direction
 
That really doesn't look like enough light to be a 40w... are you using the converted value instead of the actual?

well I said that the actual wpg is going to vary by what coefficient (0.75-0.85) you use. Still, that's between 2 and 2.3wpg.

The flash from the camera might be skewing things...I dunno
