Frustrated with Wisteria

Alright I went with the Flourish Fundamentals pack from Doctors Foster and Smith. It was a 3 pack for $7.99. Hope this stuff works better. I want a jungle in my tank lol.

These guys are nitrate hogs for one thing and will not do too well if this nutrient is deficient which sounds like your case. Go to your local Home Depot and look for a white plastic bottle with a red cap call Stump Remover in their garden section. This is pretty much pure KNO3 which is potassium nitrate. Mix about a teaspoon in a small .5l water bottle to disolve it and then add about a 1 teaspoon in your tank. Add another 1/2 teaspoon in about 3 days. Repeat one more time. In about a week or so you should see some improvement in the new shoots. Try not to overdose. You'll want to add just enough to keep the plants happy but not too much to feed the algae.

You should also get a nitrate test kit and try to keep the levels around 5-10ppm or so. Higher levels aren't nessesary due to not having any CO2.

The Fundamental pack are micro nutrient. You should really get the Enhancer Kit first. Both would be better. The Enhancer Kit is all the macro nutrient which your plant use the most. Without those, the plants will have a hard time taking in the micros. Dosing all the micro nutrient without the macros with low light and no CO2 will cause problem in the long run.

Easy plant with easy fix. But its up to you...
