The silver ghost/gold marble pair has free swimming fry for the 2nd time now, but their is a problem. The fry became free swimmers way to early.

They still have LOTS of eggs sacs left. Due to this, they swim for about 3 secs, then drop straight to the bottom of the tank. The parents will move them back on the slate, but the fry keep doing this.

By looking at them, I believe the fry still have enough eggs sacs to last another 2-3 days. They were only wigglers for 1 day.

I do not know why the fry are already free swimming. They should still be wigglers. LOL!!!

I just got back home, and sadly all the babies are dead. They have all turned white. ( yes, completely white). I have never seen this or had this happen before. I stuck all the fry in a jar ( with an air stone and heater), but they are offically all dead. I stuck in a new slate, and I am hoping for the best with the next spawn.

How big was the jar? And how warm did the water get? I think it could've been either a fungal/bacterial issue or the babies could've cooked if the water got too warm. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope that you have better luck with the next spawn.

Well, I didn't put the fry in the jar until I got home and seen that all of them were white. I put them in the jar just to make sure they were dead, as I didn't want to toss out any in case they were alive. The water in the jar was 78 degrees. The water that the parents are in is 80 degrees. Thanks so much.
