I finally saved the fry from cross between Red Parrot female and Flowerhorn male. Mom layed eggs 5-6 times in 3 months. Each time sooner than last. Unfortunately their community tank mates ate the eggs and once ate 2 day old fry. Then I got more tanks and removed the others. Success!

Fry are going on 2 weeks now and growing. I removed parents because mom was starting to eat them. Yes, her back teeth were grinding away and not spiting the babes out.

Anyone have bred such a cross before? Both parents are hybrids. I can't wait to see what they look like - with the Red-Orange parrot and Silver Grey with Navy Spots and huge Coral Chest FH.

lol some people beleive cross-breeding is bad but i think its fine, lets see some pics of them.

cross breeding is cool unless you try to trade any of them in or release them into the wild, thats where it becomes a problem. Im always curious what crosses will look like, so post pics of this strange combo.

RED PARROT FLOWERHORN CROSS

I'll send in pics as they start developing. Now they are only showing a lite golden color with a black lateral line.

Thanks,
